Why Le Mat?
In the Tarot de Marseille, Le Mat is the Fool: the one card with no number, the traveller who sets out with a bag on his shoulder and no fixed plan. It seemed the right name for a place that is for travellers.
Le Mat is run by the same local team behind Stay In Larnaca, a small group of places in the St. Lazaros quarter. One small house, run properly, by people who live here and can tell you where to eat tonight.
